MILANO DESIGN WEEK 2026
QUASIZERO at Milan Design Week 2026

On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2026, Quasizero presented its latest research into bio-based materials for the design sector, explored through advanced 3D printing processes. The studio took part as a Technical Partner within BAOLAB, presenting organic waste as a key input within an additive manufacturing process, and at DROPCITY where also they run two workshop days focused on bio-based materials and manual extrusion techniques.
During Design Week, Quasizero presents two main projects: an ongoing material research initiative and a newly developed extruder for biocomposites.

Bio-based materials
With the aim of developing material formulations compatible with additive manufacturing processes, several samples were produced and presented, ranging from biogels to biocomposites. The mixtures were designed to be suitable for additive manufacturing, making use of food and construction waste streams.
Extruder
The QZMini Extruder is a project born from the need to enable the controlled deposition of paste-like materials through a compact and easily integrable system. The device allows FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) 3D printers to process high-viscosity bio-based materials via direct extrusion. In addition, through a dedicated control box, it enables both interfacing with the machine and operation in standalone/manual mode.
