CORPORATIVE TRAINING – FROM DIGITAL TO PHYSICAL
CORPORATIVE TRAINING
16-18 June 2025
This week we were at the IE University with a workshop dedicated at the faculties.
The aim of the training was to guide participants through the process of 3D printing with bio-based materials, starting from digital design. We began with an introduction to computational design tools. Through small exercises, participants explored the potential of parametric design methods compared to more conventional approaches. Once everyone had created their own geometry, we prepared custom G-code using Grasshopper. This allowed participants to preview the amount of material required and better prepare for the final 3D-printing phase.
The third day was more hands-on: each participant prepared different material compositions, paying careful attention to achieving the right consistency for the extrusion process.

To 3D print the biomaterials we use our Portable extruder.
The Design Laboratory at IED University converted three Prusa printers into LDM machines by integrating our QZMiniExtruder system.
